In a country ruled by manners and proper upbringings, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has a long been under some form of ruling body to maintain the laws and statutes of their land. Although nearly 50% of their food supplies and industry necessities are imported, they continue to manage their country as a well oiled machine. Controlling the UK is the ruling body, the British Parliament. This supreme ruling body is headed by Queen Elizabeth II, holding the ultimate power over all of the United Kingdom as well as the surrounding entities. The British Parliament began as one governing body, created mainly for the purpose of monitoring the king to insure there would be no high levy toward the people. Politics has become the mainstream topic in much of society today, and as a result has become perhaps the most talked about business, as opposed to the Queen. In making the British government and politics side of the country more important, you can see the changes in the future generations that is encouraging for the future. In the British Parliament monitoring the greater number of people, there are two separate ruling houses. The House of Commons, being the group of more relaxed status and membership, while the House of Lords caters for the upper echelon. Although the House of Commons may appear to be somewhat lacking in the politics department, there have been some outstanding performances by both the House of Commons and the House of Lords. These two separate bodies are headed by Queen Elizabeth II, and are what make up the British government. Great Britain has continued through the years, generation after generation, being a noteworthy country due in part to their chosen form of politics, as well as learning to deal with issues before they become large. Politics today are improving as the British government has taken many positive steps to helping its people and making everything run more smoothly.
